A strategy to build an online portfolio that will work well no matter the software…
No matter which software you will be using to build a Web Site based on-line portfolio, the suggested method for organizing all of the files that will make up your entire site is to create a folder for each of the site’s “pages or menu tabs” that will be listed in your navigation bar.
Much like in the hobby of scrap-booking, as you create and gather information for each page/tab place it in the appropriate folder. When you are ready to build the site or make changes, you can work page by page accessing the graphics, files, video and text from its individual folder.
This method also makes it easy to recreate and entire page or the entire site and acts as an organized backup of the site on your own hard disk.
